Carle's Cavern: Explore a mysterious cave full of puzzles.

##Demo v3##

This is a demo/proof of concept for a bigger idea. Let me know what you love and hate about it, down in the comments.

Controls: WASD, Mouse to aim, tap Space to interact, hold Space to search. Shift to look. Interact with the light beams to save your game.

Art by me. Title music by me. Other music and sounds from Pixabay. Playable on desktop. Try on mobile at your own risk.

The "spinning rings" puzzle *may* become unsolvable due to a bug. Leaving the room and coming back may fix it. If not, you'll need to restart the game.

I used GPT to translate some dialogue into the "ye olde" dialect.

Spent an hour on this. Ok, I get the map from the Sans (Helvetica) guy, he tells me I can look at it anytime, I have explored everywhere I can (I've hugged every wall, even in the dark room) and I haven't found a way out, a way to progress, the lamp item (which is implied by the 4 statues) nor the missing lever to raise the right flag. The stoic skeleton still keeps his secrets. I did find the "secret" room left to the adventurer effigy guy, but I can't do anything about it. I like what you're going for although I would reconsider (or at least ask other people willing to test) if you really need mouse look (unless you're going to use it cleverly in some puzzle), it makes it feel clunky for no reason/gain. All in all, found your game on reddit, came and tested it, have been stuck for an hour trying to brute force everything. Charming graphics.

(Edit- This comment was demo v2- v3 overhauled the world entirely). Thanks for taking the time to write all that up! Based on this and other feedback, the demo is not putting its best foot forward and doing the rest of the game justice. I will be contemplating how to go forward. Bad hints/lack of hints is certainly a thing, which seems have stumped you. My fault not yours. Things like mouselook are definitely on my radar as far as questioning their worth. It's good to hear the art is "charming" as you put it, IDK if anyone else has used that wording yet and I'm pretty insecure about my talents as an artist.

This is really getting to be something.. I love the puzzle elements you have going here. I kinda got stuck pretty quick. And I explored all the areas I could get to, (I think). This is a great start! Can't wait to see it finished up!!
